The french company Sud Aviation Caravelle was one of the first to manufacture short and medium-haul propulsion aircraft. In 1962 they decided to take a turn in their product line and begin to manufacture caravans designed by the same aeronautical engineers who designed their airplanes. In a very short time, the Caravelair caravans have established themselves as leaders in the French market. Thanks to the relationship between quality and price, they have maintained this leadership to date.

As of today, the factory located in the Ródano valley, Ardè che belongs to the TRIGANO VDL group (Caravelair, Chausson, Challenger, Silver, Sterckeman and Sublim) and produces more 10,000 caravans and motorhomes per year employing more than 800 people on an area of ​​approximately 200,000 square meters. There is talk of the largest factory in Europe dedicated to this type of vehicle.
